Types of Divorce
Under the Turkish Civil Code, a divorce case may be filed as uncontested or contested. For an uncontested divorce, the marriage must have lasted at least one year and the parties must agree on all consequences.
Competent Court
Family Courts hear divorce cases. The competent court is that of the residence of either spouse or of the place where the spouses lived together for the last six months.
